Description

Event Information: This lesson will introduce new types of windsurfing equipment to students who wish to gain more knowledge and skills in the windsurfing fleet. FootStraps and Harnesses are the next step in becoming more confident and being able to sail more comfortably in heavy wind conditions. This lesson should be taken once a student is starting to sail in heavier wind and wish to continue in the windsurfing fleet. Students should be confident in upwind and downwind sailing and be proficient in light wind conditions.    

Location: This lesson will meet under the yellow canopy next to the lake lab. If you are unable to find your instructor, or if there is inclement weather, please check in with the Outdoor UW Office.

Prerequisites: Windsurfing Light 

Students who show proficiency in all criteria in this lesson will be issued their Windsurfing Footstrap & Harness Clinic Attendance rating.

Cancellation, Reschedule, and Refund Information
If this event is cancelled more than 24 hours in advance, participants will be notified via the email associated with their membership account. If the event needs to be cancelled within 24 hours of the event start time, the instructor will call each participant individually via the phone number associated with their membership account. We ask that students remove themselves from a lesson as soon as they know they will be unable to attend; lessons dropped within 24 hours of the lesson's start time will be considered a Late Drop. If you no-show for a lesson without informing the instructor, they may temporarily suspend your lesson sign-up privileges.
Equipment/ Gear Required by Participant
This event will occur either partly or primarily on the water. Participants should be prepared to get wet and wear appropriate swimming attire (either a swimsuit or wetsuit). Lifejackets will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. Use of sunglasses, sunscreen, and a water bottle are strongly encouraged.
