Description

Prerequisite: Hoofer Sailing Club Member, J 24 light rating or heavy keelboat crew rating.  
The ASA 101 Test-out is an opportunity to demonstrate your sailing maneuvers in a sloop-rigged keelboat approximately 20-27 feet in length in light to moderate winds and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision .

This course includes the publications,  "Sailing Made Eas"y.  It will be available for pick-up upon sign-up at the Outdoor Programs Office. Students are expected to have read and studied this textbook prior to the class. The written examination is based on this text. The ASA logbook will be issued to you upon completion of the course.

Cost: $170 students, $200 Faculty/Staff and Union Members.

Please register in person at the Outdoor Programs Office. Memorial Union - Waterfront.  You may also register by phone by calling 608-262-1630 and pick up your materials later.  

 Note: The above stated dates and hours may change depending on weather and wind conditions. Your instructor will inform you if any changes are needed.  

OUW Clerks - Students are to receive a copy of the book "Sailing Made Easy." Non-members are to recieve a one month membership
